ADESUWA OSAGIE FOUNDATION: TOUCHING THE LIVES OF CHILDREN
FOR POSITIVE IMPACT AND SECURED FUTURE
Adesuwa Osagie Foundation visited a public primary school in the quest to touch the lives of pupils by donation of essential school supplies such as notebooks, school bags, pencils, erasers, temporary markers and pencil sharpeners. As part of the aims and objectives of Adesuwa Osagie Foundation is to positively impact the lives of indigents Nigerian youths and children particularly, those in public primary and secondary schools.
On Tuesday 27th September, 2022 at about 9:30am, The Adesuwa Osagie Foundation’s team members were warmly received by Mr. Akinbami, The Head Teacher of Ayetoto African Church Primary School, Makoko. Makoko community is a densely populated coaster area in Lagos mainland which is situated by the Lagos lagoon at the third mainland bridge end. The community is mostly populated by the Egun people whose main occupation is fishing.
Shortly after we were warmly received by the school authority, also arrived to witness the humanitarian gesture of Adesuwa Osagie Foundation were three members including head of mobilization, from the office of Hon.
Tajudeen Tijani who is the Education Secretary of the Lagos Mainland Education Authority situated at Montgomery Road, Yaba, Lagos State. It is a government agency responsible for the supervision and overseeing the affairs of public primary schools within the Lagos Mainland local government. Prior to the outreach day, Adesuwa Osagie Foundation had communicated with the Lagos Mainland Education Authority, securing approval to embark on the humanitarian gesture.
The team members swung into action for effective distribution to the pupils, items include about 400 units of School bags, 1200 copies of 40 leaves 2A notebooks, 350 copies of 2B Notebooks, 350 copies of 2D Notebooks, about 600 hundred units each of Pencils, Biros, Erasers and Pencil sharpeners. The 2B and 2D Notebooks are used by pupils in nursery, primary 1 and 2 while the 40 leaves 2A notebooks are being used by pupils of primary 3, 4, 5 and 6. Items donated include temporary markers used by the teachers on the white boards.
Excitement, joy and hope was visibly seen on the faces of the children as we started from the nursery class and move to other classes. Placing these items directly on their hands was a great experience which really interpreted one of the purposes behind the establishment of Adesuwa Osagie Foundation: to support the educational dreams Nigerian children many of which came from underprivileged and impoverished background.
The pupils and teachers alike expressed gratitude and appreciation for all items donated, the items goes a long way in meeting the needs of some of the pupils who could not afford these basic educational needs.
The regulatory authority too, through its representatives, expressed appreciation to Adesuwa Osagie Foundation for the kind gesture.
